πρεσβεία της να απαντήσει ως την 10η Απριλίου. Η Ρωσία εξέφρασε «την
ανησυχία της» για την επιδείνωση της κατάστασης.

ReplyDeleteUNITED NATIONS - UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is deeply alarmed at the rising tensions on the Korean peninsula, though United Nations humanitarian workers remain active across North Korea for the time being, a spokesman said on Friday.
"UN staff in the DPRK (North Korea) remain engaged in their humanitarian and developmental work throughout the country," UN spokesman Martin Nesirky said in a conference broadcast in New York.
"The secretary-general remains deeply concerned about escalating tensions on the Korean peninsula." Nesirky said that UN officials were present at a meeting on Friday in Pyongyang along with other foreign diplomats at which North Korean officials asked embassies to consider moving staff out and warned their safety cannot be guarantee after April 10.
"The United Nations is studying the message and the United Nations will respond as appropriate," he said.
The North Korean message comes on the heels of declarations by the government of the secretive communist state that conflict is inevitable because of what it terms "hostile" US troop exercises with South Korea and UN sanctions imposed over North Korea's nuclear weapons testing.
"There is a general need for things to calm down, for the volume to be turned down," Nesirky said.
"It is really incumbent on the DPRK authorities to reduce the tension," he said. "It is after all the DPRK authorities that have made a number of statements in the recent days and indeed weeks that the secretary-general and others have said are alarming." ReplyDeleteΟι πρέσβεις των χωρών της ΕΕ, διαπιστευμένων στην ΛΔ της Κορέας, θα συζητήσουν το Σάββατο σε συνάντηση στο Πιονγκγιάνγκ την γενική θέση και τις πιθανές ενέργειες σχετικά με την πρόταση των Αρχών της Βόρειας Κορέας για την απομάκρυνση του προσωπικού των διπλωματικών αποστολών, ενημέρωσε την Παρασκευή εκπρόσωπος του ΥΠΕΞ Βουλγαρίας. Όμως μέχρι στιγμής δεν προγραμματίζεται το κλείσιμο των πρεσβειών.
Νωρίτερα την Παρασκευή το βορειοκορεάτικο ΥΠΕΞ πρότεινε στις ξένες πρεσβείες, συμπεριλαμβανομένης και της ρωσικής, να απομακρύνουν το προσωπικό τους λόγω της αυξημένης έντασης στην Κορεάτικη χερσόνησο.

White House says no surprise from N. Korea's missile move....

WASHINGTON, April 5 (Yonhap) -- The White House said Friday it won't be surprised by a missile launch by North Korea, which would be in line with its pattern of belligerence.
"We've obviously seen the reports that North Korea may be making preparations to launch a missile, and we're monitoring this situation closely," press secretary Jay Carney told reporters. "And we would not be surprised to see them take such an action."
The North has moved as many as two intermediate or long-range missiles to a launch site along the eastern coast, according to South Korean and U.S. military officials.

- Die US-Regierung rechnet offenbar mit einem weiteren Raketentest in Nordkorea. Der Sprecher des Weißen Hauses, Jay Carney, sagte am Freitag, ein solcher Test "würde uns nicht überraschen". Nordkorea habe bereits in der Vergangenheit Raketen abgeschossen.
Ein solcher Schritt würde zur derzeitigen kriegerischen Rhetorik des kommunistischen Regimes passen. Man arbeite eng mit China und Russland zusammen, um auf Nordkorea Einfluss zu nehmen, fügte Carney hinzu. Das kommunistische Regime solle seinen internationalen Verpflichtungen nachkommen.
Gleichzeitig mühen sich die USA, weiterhin gelassen auf die Drohungen Nordkoreas zu reagieren. Den jüngsten Schachzug von Pjöngjang, mehreren Ländern den Abzug ihrer Diplomaten aus der nordkoreanischen Hauptstadt zu empfehlen, bezeichnete das Außenministerium als Krieg der Worte. "Das ist nur eine eskalierende Serie rhetorischer Stellungnahmen", sagte Sprecherin Viktoria Nuland dazu. Sie fügte allerdings hinzu: "Die Frage ist, mit welchem Ende."
Die Mitgliedstaaten der Europäischen Union beriefen für Montag ein Sondertreffen ihrer EU-Botschafter über die sich zuspitzende Lage in Nordkorea ein. Foreign embassies still in Pyongyang despite warning: Seoul officials....
ReplyDeleteSEOUL, April 6 (Yonhap) -- Despite North Korea's recent warning to foreign diplomatic missions to leave Pyongyang, no embassy has yet to make a move out of the communist state, Seoul officials said Saturday.
"We don't believe there's any foreign mission about to leave Pyongyang," one South Korean government official said. "Most foreign governments view the North Korean message as a way of ratcheting up tension on the Korean Peninsula."
According to media reports Friday, which have since been confirmed by Seoul and Washington, North Korea's foreign ministry asked embassies based in Pyongyang to leave, saying a war could break out soon and the safety of foreigners is not guaranteed.

Nach Einschätzung der US-Regierung ist China zunehmend frustriert von seinem Verbündeten Nordkorea. Das berichtet die New York Times unter Berufung auf nicht genannte Offizielle in Washington. Sie vermuteten, dass der neue Präsident in Peking, Xi Jinping, die seit Jahrzehnten anhaltende Unterstützung für Nordkorea überdenken wolle.
Der amerikanische Präsident Barack Obama habe Xi ausführlich über die Aufrüstungspläne des US-Militärs in der Region angesichts der Drohungen aus Nordkorea informiert. Die Regierung in Peking habe dagegen nicht protestiert. Aus dem Schweigen schließe die US-Regierung, dass China von Nordkorea abrücke, berichtete die New York Times. Zudem sei Xis Regierung zu dem Schluss gekommen, dass die reflexartige Unterstützung des Regimes in Pjöngjang die Beziehungen zu den USA unnötig belaste.
Obamas Sicherheitsberater Tom Donilon wies in der New York Times darauf hin, dass der Zeitpunkt wichtig sei: "Das ist eine wichtige erste Erfahrung zwischen den Vereinigten Staaten und China, früh in der Amtszeit von Xi Jinping und früh in der zweiten Amtszeit von Präsident Obama." «Τα όπλα έχουν απασφαλιστεί»....
ReplyDeleteΚι αν γίνει το μοιραίο λάθος, ποιά η διαχείριση; Θα υπάρχει δρόμος επιστροφής; Εκεί εστιάζεται η ανησυχία των δυτικών. Οι διπλωμάτες έχουν ωστόσο ετοιμάσει τις αποσκευές τους και όλοι απεύχονται το χειρότερο.
Η τηλεόραση της Β. Κορέας όπως και το καθεστώς της χώρας έχουν βάλει μπροστά το μηχανάκι του πολέμου. Ανάμεσα στα πολλά στρατιωτικά φιλμ που μεταδίδονται καθημερινά υπάρχει κι ένα σύντομο βιντεάκι που δείχνει τον ηγέτη Κιμ Γιονγκ Ουν να επιδεικνύει στους στρατηγούς του πώς λειτουργεί ένα πιστόλι. Οι προετοιμασίες για τις ιαχές του πολέμου ωστόσο έχουν αρχίσει από καιρό.
«Τα λεφτά είναι πολλά»
Τους τελευταίους μήνες στην περιοχή γίνονται δοκιμαστικές βολές με βαριά όπλα. Τον περασμένο Δεκέμβριο έγινε μια ακόμη πυραυλική δοκιμή. Και λίγο μετά την επιβολή αυστηρότερων κυρώσεων από τα ΗΕ, η Πγιονγκ Γιανγκ προχώρησε και σε υπόγεια δοκιμή. Οι ΗΠΑ συγκεντρώνουν την πολεμική τους μηχανή στην περιοχή, η Β. Κορέα πλειοδοτεί σε επιθετική ρητορική και απειλεί με "προληπτικό πλήγμα" εναντίον των Αμερικανών, ακόμη και με ενεργοποίηση πυρηνικών όπλων. Η τελευταία εξέλιξη αφορά τις δυτικές πρεσβείες και το προσωπικό τους. Η Β. Κορέα συνέστησε χθες την εκκένωσή τους. Πρόκειται για έναν ακόμη ρητορικό παροξυσμό ή επίκειται το μοιραίο; «Στις 15 Απριλίου συμπληρώνονται 101 χρόνια από την γέννηση του μεγάλου και δημοφιλούς ηγέτη Κιμ Ιλ Σουνγκ», λέει ο Γιοχάνες Πφλουγκ, βουλευτής του Σοσιαλδημοκρατικού Κόμματος. «Μετά από αυτήν την ημερομηνία θα δούμε ότι το καθεστώς θα κατεβάσει σταδιακά τις πολεμικές κορώνες και θα άρει τους περιορισμούς στη βιομηχανική ζώνη Καεσόνγκ. Πρόκειται για δύο δις δολάρια που χάνει η Β. Κορέα ετησίως. Και όποιος παίζει με πυρηνικές βόμβες και πυραύλους χρειάζεται πολλά λεφτά».
«Αρκεί μια απροσεξία για»…
Παρόλα αυτά οι διπλωμάτες κάθονται σε αναμμένα κάρβουνα και με έτοιμες τις αποσκευές τους. Τα υπουργεία των Εξωτερικών βρίσκονται σε συνεχή επαφή για να συντονίσουν τις ενέργειες εκκένωσης των πρεσβειών τους στην βορεοκορεατική πρωτεύουσα. Ο γενικότερος προβληματισμός εστιάζεται στο πώς η ηγεσία θα αποκλιμακώσει την ατμόσφαιρα πολέμου και θα επιστρέψει στην καθημερινότητα χωρίς να χάσει το γόητρό της. Και ένα τυχαίο περιστατικό μπορεί να οδηγήσει στον πόλεμο.
«Ένας κινέζος στρατηγός μου έλεγε σε σχέση με το πολεμικό τοπίο, ότι τα όπλα έχουν ήδη απασφαλιστεί και αρκεί ένα λάθος για να εκπυρσοκροτήσουν», δηλώνει ο χριστιανοδημοκράτης βουλευτής Μάνφρεντ Γκρουντ. «Που σημαίνει ότι αρκεί ένα τυχαίο γεγονός, μια απροσεξία ανεξαρτήτως πλευράς για να οδηγηθούμε σε μια κατάσταση χωρίς διαχείριση και επιστροφή, κι αυτό είναι που προκαλεί τις μεγαλύτερες ανησυχίες».

Nordkorea ist Steilvorlage für japanische Militär-Pläne.......
ReplyDeleteKaum ein Land fühlt sich durch Nordkorea so bedroht wie Japan. Das Säbelrasseln in Pjöngjang liefert der neuen Regierung das passende Argument, um die pazifistische Verfassung zu ändern und das Militär zu stärken.
TokioMit seinem immer bedrohlicheren Säbelrasseln spielt Nordkorea dem rechtskonservativen japanischen Regierungschef Shinzo Abe in die Hände. Zwar verhält sich die Regierung in Tokio dieser Tage auffallend zurückhaltend. So bezeichnete ein Sprecher die Provokationen aus Pjöngjang lediglich als „extrem bedauerlich“. Doch für Abe ist das kriegerische Gebaren des kommunistischen Nachbarn nur mehr ein weiteres Argument für einen Plan, den er schon lange aus Überzeugung verfolgt: Japan sollte die Auslegung seiner pazifistischen Verfassung dringend ändern und dem Militär eine stärkere Rolle an der Seite des Sicherheitspartners USA ermöglichen.

Sollte Nordkorea tatsächlich seine Drohungen wahr machen und US-Stützpunkte mit Raketen beschießen oder eines Tages gar eine Rakete mit Atomsprengkopf abfeuern, müsste Japan nach derzeitiger Lesart der Verfassung tatenlos zuschauen.
„Das wäre das Ende der Allianz mit den USA“, warnte der frühere japanische Verteidigungsminister Shigeru Ishiba, der heute Abes rechte Hand in der regierenden Liberaldemokratischen Partei ist. „Da Japan auf die nukleare Abschreckung der USA angewiesen ist, um Nordkoreas Bedrohung zu begegnen, muss Japan seine Allianz mit den USA stärken und ermöglichen, dass das Recht auf kollektive Selbstverteidigung ausgeübt werden kann“, meint auch Yanai. Corée du nord: un espion sud-coréen avait tout prévu... jusqu'à présent....
ReplyDeleteDans un article publié il y a quelques semaines dans un quotidien de Séoul, un agent du renseignement de Corée du sud avait correctement prédit l'enchaînement des événements sur la péninsule. S'il dit vrai, les jours à venir sont effrayants.
Les déclarations tonitruantes de la Corée du Nord sont si répétitives qu'elles sont parfois prévisibles, semble-t-il. Aussi incroyable que cela puisse paraitre, les dernières mises en garde de Pyongyang avaient déjà été annoncés, il y a quelques semaines, dans un article de presse...
Récapitulons.
Vendredi 5 avril, le régime nord-coréen a installé un deuxième missile de moyenne portée sur sa côte est, laissant craindre un tir imminent, et averti que la sécurité des missions diplomatiques dans la capitale ne serait plus assurée à compter du 10 avril. En d'autres termes, la dictature dynastique de Kim Jong-un invite les diplomates étrangers à quitter les lieux, car une guerre pourrait éclater d'un jour à l'autre. Problème: ces déclarations avaient été prédites il y a trois semaines dans un article du JoongAng Daily, l'un des principaux quotidiens sud-coréens, comme le rappelle Max Fisher, observateur attentif de la péninsule et journaliste au Washington Post.
Un plan en trois étapes
Dans son enquête, publiée le mois dernier, le journaliste citait un membre anonyme des services de renseignement de la Corée du sud: "Pyongyang recommandera aux missions diplomatiques étrangères d'évacuer leurs ressortissants étrangers", annonçait-il. Ce serait, selon ses dires, la deuxième phase d'un plan en trois étapes, destiné à tout faire pour que la péninsule coréenne semble se rapprocher de l'état de guerre... sans pour autant verser dans un conflit armé. Auparavant, prédisait la même source, "Pyongyang multipliera les déclarations menaçantes en direction du Sud afin de faire croire que la guerre est imminente". De fait, c'est ce qui s'est produit...
Puisque l'agent sud-coréen a correctement prédit l'enchaînement des événements jusqu'à présent, qu'annonçait-il pour la suite? Rien de bon. Selon lui, la troisième étape -celle qui reste à venir, si on le considère comme une source crédible- prendra la forme d'un "attentat terroriste contre un édifice public dans le Sud, tel qu'un aéroport, ou une attaque armée comme celle menée contre le Cheonan".
Le Cheonan est une corvette de la marine sud-coréenne, dont le naufrage, en 2006, a provoqué la mort de 46 marins. Séoul accuse Pyongyang, de manière convaincante, d'avoir torpillé le bâtiment depuis un sous-marin.
Faut-il craindre que la prophétie se réalisera? Difficile à dire. Nos confrères de Séoul ont parfois tendance à dramatiser les très rares informations fiables venues du Nord. South Koreans leave joint factory park as North warns embassies on safety....
ReplyDeletePAJU, South Korea – More South Koreans on Saturday began to leave North Korea and the factory park where they work, four days after Pyongyang closed the border to people and goods.
Twenty-one South Koreans returned from the Kaesong industrial park Saturday morning, and about 100 of the roughly 600 still there were expected to return home by day's end, the Unification Ministry in Seoul said.
One manager, Han Nam-il, interviewed as he left, said he saw North Korean security officials "fully armed" before he crossed the border.
The industrial park is the last remnant of North-South cooperation. Pyongyang's blocking of traffic there is among many provocative moves it has made recently in anger over U.N. sanctions for its Feb. 12 nuclear test and current U.S.-South Korean military drills.

Korea-Krise: UN-Generalsekretär Ban bittet China um Hilfe....
ReplyDeleteUno-Generalsekretär Ban Ki-moon hat China gebeten, seinen Einfluss auf Nordkorea zu nutzen, um eine Entspannung auf der Halbinsel Korea herbeizuführen.
In einer am Samstag im Uno-Hauptquartier veröffentlichten Mitteilung hat Ban mit dem neuen chinesischen Außenminister Wang Yi telefoniert. Seinerseits versprach der Uno-Generalsekretär, er werde alles nur Mögliche im Interesse der Entspannung unternehmen. „Er äußerte seine Zuversicht, dass Chinas Staatsführung ebenfalls alles unternehmen wird, um Pjöngjang zu helfen, seinen Kurs zu ändern.
Für den 11. April plant Ban ein Telefongespräch mit US-Präsident Barack Obama, um akute internationale Probleme zu diskutieren.

Chinese FM, U.N. chief discuss Korean Peninsula tensions....
DeleteBEIJING, April 6 (Xinhua) -- China insists that the current tensions on the Korea Peninsula should be resolved through dialogue, no matter how the situation may develop, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Saturday.
China also insists that the nuclear-free process of the peninsula should be advanced and the peace and stability of the peninsula should be maintained, Wang said during a phone conversation with U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
Wang noted that China has expressed severe concern over the current tensions on the Korea Peninsula, which is China's close neighbor. He said that Beijing opposes any provocative words and actions from any party in the region and does not allow troublemaking at the doorsteps of China.
China urges all the relevant parties to keep calm and restrained and help ease the tensions, Wang said.
China calls for the restoration of six-party talks and to bring the issue back to the track of dialogue, he added.
Ban expressed deep concern and worry over the rising tensions on the Korea Peninsula and hoped the situation would soon cool down in order to prevent events from spinning out of control.
Ban said that the United Nations is willing to maintain communications with China and other relevant sides.

So much about New Korea is unknown—the progress of its nuclear weapons industry, the hierarchy of its power elite, the range of its missiles, the extent of its industry hidden underground. And now the world is wondering if ruler Kim Jong Un will follow through on the fireballs of threats and ultimatums he issued this week after the UN imposed new sanctions. Following are a few of the things we do know about a country that seems to have retreated into a very dark corner.
Geography: Eighty percent of North Korea is covered by mountains and uplands. When drought or heavy rains hit, the limited amount of agricultural land is stressed, contributing to regular food shortages.
Life Expectancy: North Koreans live an average of 69 years, 11 years less than South Koreans. The greatest health threat is hunger. Tourism: Several thousand tourists a year visit North Korea through state-sanctioned groups operating out of Beijing. South Koreans are not allowed in. Washington reporte un tir expérimental pour ne pas braquer Pyongyang.....
ReplyDeleteLe Pentagone a décidé de reporter un tir expérimental de missile prévu de longue date "pour éviter toute mauvaise interprétation ou erreur de calcul" dans le contexte actuel de tensions avec la Corée du Nord, a déclaré samedi 6 avril un responsable américain de la défense.
L'essai de ce Minuteman 3, missile balistique intercontinental à ogives nucléaires, devait avoir lieu depuis la base aérienne de Vandenberg en Californie, mais a été repoussé au mois prochain.
"C'est une initiative logique, prudente et responsable", a dit le responsable interrogé, s'exprimant sous le sceau de l'anonymat. North Korea tension prompts US missile test delay.....
ReplyDeleteThe US Pentagon has delayed an intercontinental ballistic missile test scheduled for next week, defence officials say.
The Minuteman 3 test was put off because of concerns that it could be misinterpreted by North Korea, amid fears of a conflict.
It could be postponed till May.
North Korea has issued a series of unusually strong threats since it was sanctioned by the UN in March for carrying out a third nuclear test.
It has threatened nuclear strikes on the US, formally declared war on the South, and pledged to reopen a nuclear reactor in defiance of UN Security Council resolutions.

ReplyDeleteSEOUL – A top South Korean national security official said today that North Korea may be setting the stage for a missile test or another provocative act with its warning that it soon will be unable to guarantee diplomats’ safety in Pyongyang. But he added that the North’s clearest objective is to extract concessions from Washington and Seoul.
North Korea’s warning last week followed weeks of war threats and other efforts to punish South Korea and the United States for ongoing joint military drills, and for their support of United Nations sanctions over Pyongyang’s Feb 12 nuclear test. Many nations are deciding what to do about the notice, which said their diplomats’ safety in Pyongyang cannot be guaranteed beginning this Wednesday.
Tensions between Seoul and Pyongyang led South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff to announce Sunday that its chairman had put off a visit to Washington. The South Korean defense minister said Thursday that North Korea had moved a missile with “considerable range” to its east coast, possibly to conduct a test launch.

Seúl detecta señales evidentes de un nuevo ejercicio nuclear de Corea del Norte.....

Según el ministro surcoreano de reunificación "hay bastantes signos" de que esto pueda ocurrir, tal y como se viene barajando en medio de la escalada de amenazas lanzadas por el 'Querido líder' del régimen norcoreano.
Según medios de Seúl, una fuente oficial de Corea del Sur ha confirmado que se han detectado movimientos similares a los acontecidos en los días previos al último ensayo nuclear, el pasado 12 de febrero. "Seguimos monitorizando la situación de cerca", ha añadido dicha fuente.
"Hemos detectado una mayor actividad de obreros y vehículos en el túnel sur del sitio de pruebas de Punggye-ri, donde el régimen ha trabajado en el mantenimiento de las instalaciones desde su tercera prueba nuclear en febrero" afirmó la fuente.
"Las actividades parecen ser similares a las de antes de la tercera prueba, así que estamos vigilando de cerca el sitio", detalló, mientras un oficial del Ministerio de Defensa de Seúl confirmó a Efe que su Gobierno vigila de cerca por la posibilidad de que Corea del Norte realice su cuarta prueba nuclear.

South Korean Unification Minister Ryoo Kihl-jae told lawmakers there are "signs" of increased activity in the North's main nuclear test site.
A newspaper also quoted a South Korean official confirming activity similar to the North's third test on 12 February.
This comes amid North Korea's stepped up rhetoric in recent weeks against the US and South Korea.
Mr Ryoo did not elaborate on the specific intelligence.
But when asked about a news report that North Korea had stepped up activity at its underground atomic test site, he said "there are such signs"..........

ReplyDeleteΗ Βόρεια Κορέα φέρεται να προετοιμάζεται για μία τέταρτη πυρηνική δοκιμή. Σύμφωνα με δηλώσεις του υπουργού Ενοποίησης της Νότιας Κορέας, Ριό Κιλ Τζάε, υπάρχουν «σημάδια» αυξημένης κινητικότητας στις κύριες εγκαταστάσεις πυρηνικών δοκιμών της Πιονγιάνγκ.
Παράλληλα, η εφημερίδα «JoongAng Ilbo», επικαλούμενη δηλώσεις νοτιοκορεάτη αξιωματούχου, αναφέρει πως οι μυστικές υπηρεσίες της Σεούλ εντόπισαν «αυξημένη κινητικότητα εργατικού δυναμικού και οχημάτων» στις εγκαταστάσεις Punggye-ri, στο βορειοανατολικό τμήμα της Βόρειας Κορέας, αντίστοιχη με εκείνη που σημειώθηκε πριν την πυρηνική δοκιμή της 12ης Φεβρουαρίου από την Πιονγιάνγκ.

Η Πιονγιάνγκ έχει απειλήσει με πυρηνική επίθεση τις ΗΠΑ και τη Σεούλ, ενώ έχει ήδη μεταφέρει δύο πυραύλους μεσαίου βεληνεκούς στην ανατολική ακτή της. Kim dijo durante la visita que la actual crisis en el único proyecto intercoreano vigente se debe a los "actos imprudentes de los belicistas surcoreanos y estadounidenses", en una aparente referencia a las maniobras militares que ambos aliados realizan en el sur de la península.

SEOUL, April 8 (Yonhap) -- North Korea said Monday that it will withdraw all of its workers from the Kaesong Industrial Complex in response to unacceptable provocations against the country's dignity.
A statement issued by Kim Yang-gon, a member of the North Korea's ruling Workers' Party Central Committee, and carried by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), said all North Korean workers will be pulled out from the border town located just north of the demilitarized zone. It did not give a deadline for the move, although it could take place as early as Tuesday.

Park voices disappointment with N. Korea's suspension of Kaesong complex....

-- South Korean President Park Geun-hye said Tuesday that North Korea's decision to suspend the operation of a jointly run factory complex in its border city of Kaesong is "very disappointing."
Park made the remark during a Cabinet meeting, saying that no country in the world would be willing to invest in North Korea if the communist nation flouts international regulations and promises.
"It is very disappointing that North Korea abruptly said yesterday that it will temporarily suspend the operation of the Kaesong Industrial Complex that has been operating without any problems," Park said.
"How long should we see this endless vicious cycle of (North Korea) creating crises before reaching compromise in exchange for aid and again creating crises before compromise and aid?" she said of Pyongyang's pattern of behavior.
On Tuesday, operations of the complex grounded to a halt as North Korean workers failed to showed up for work, a day after the regime said it would withdraw all of its workers from the complex and temporarily suspend operations.
"If North Korea breaches international regulations and promises like this, there will be no countries or companies that would make investments in North Korea," Park said. "North Korea should halt wrong behavior and make the right choice for the sake of the entire future of the Korean People."
The complex has long been plagued by political and nuclear disputes.
A new wave of tensions has hit the zone after North Korea churned out near-daily threats of war and harsh rhetoric in anger over joint military exercises between South Korea and the United States and new U.N. sanctions adopted for its third nuclear test in February.
The project combines cheap North Korean labor with South Korean capital and technology.
A total of 123 South Korean factories employ some 53,000 North Korean workers at the complex. Revenues from the zone were considered a key source of hard currency for the impoverished North.

Pyongyang demande aux étrangers d'évacuer la Corée du Sud....

"Nous ne souhaitons aucun mal aux étrangers qui se trouvent en Corée du Sud si la guerre éclate", a déclaré un porte-parole du Comité coréen pour la paix dans la région Asie-Pacifique, relayé par l'agence de presse officielle KCNA.
Plus tôt dans la matinée, deux lanceurs de missiles Patriot ont été installés au ministère de la défense japonais au cœur de Tokyo, afin d'intercepter un éventuel missile nord-coréen, a-t-on appris auprès du ministère. D'après la presse japonaise, des missiles similaires vont être déployés sur deux autres sites aux alentours de la capitale nippone.
Des batteries d'intercepteurs seront aussi installées sur l'île d'Okinawa, dans le sud du Japon, a annoncé lundi le ministre de la défense, Itsunori Onodera. Lors d'une émission de télévision, il a précisé qu'Okinawa était "l'endroit le plus approprié pour répondre à toute urgence", ajoutant que des Patriot pourraient désormais être déployés sur cette île "de façon permanente".
Les forces d'autodéfense – nom de l'armée japonaise – ont été autorisées à détruire tout missile nord-coréen qui menacerait le territoire nippon, a indiqué lundi un porte-parole du ministère. Outre les batteries de Patriot, Tokyo a déployé des destroyers équipés du système d'interception Aegis en mer du Japon (appelée mer de l'Est par les Coréens), a précisé ce responsable.
La Corée du Nord a transporté en train, en début de semaine dernière, deux missiles Musudan et les a installés sur des véhicules équipés d'un dispositif de tir, selon Séoul, qui redoute que Pyongyang ne procède à un essai dans les jours à venir. Le Musudan aurait une portée théorique de 3 000 kilomètres, une capacité suffisante pour atteindre la Corée du Sud ou le Japon.

Pyongyang warns foreigners to evacuate S. Korea....
ReplyDeletePyongyang has issued a warning urging foreign nationals to evacuate South Korea, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported. The statement was followed by threats from North Korea of “thermonuclear” war on the Korean Peninsula.
North Korea has warned all foreign nationals to prepare to evacuate the South in the event of conflict. "We do not wish harm on foreigners in South Korea should there be a war," Reuters quoted KCNA news agency as saying, citing the spokesperson for its Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee.
Further,“all international organizations, businesses and tourists” were told to “work out measures for the evacuation.”
The statement was followed by renewed threats of “thermonuclear" war on the Korean Peninsula, AFP reported.
This marks the latest escalation in Pyongyang’s rhetoric.
On Monday, a South Korean lawmaker visiting the US said that nuclear support from Washington is needed to protect against North Korea's continued aggression and unpredictability, and to keep its neighbor in check.
Rep. Chung Moon-joon suggested that South Korea needs nuclear weapons of its own – not just to intimidate Pyongyang, but also to send a strong message to China.
Recent tensions in the Korean Peninsula further escalated after North Korea announced that 51,000 workers would be recalled from a joint industrial Kaesong zone shared with the South, a major severing of economic ties between the countries.
Tensions escalated further on Tuesday when North Korean laborers did not show up for work at the Kaesong joint industrial zone in the morning, effectively suspending operations. Earlier, Pyongyang refused to allow South Korean workers to enter the area, located a few kilometers inside the North’s territory.

Japan stationiert Patriot-Raketen in Tokio....
ReplyDeleteDas japanische Militär bringt eine Raketenabwehr in Stellung, um mögliche Angriffe aus Nordkorea abzuwehren. Im Industriepark Kaesong wird nicht mehr produziert.
Angesichts der jüngsten Drohungen aus Nordkorea hat Japan mitten in Tokio Patriot-Raketen stationiert. Die zwei Abwehrsysteme seien in der Nacht auf dem Gelände des Verteidigungsministeriums im Stadtteil Ichigaya aufgestellt worden, sagte ein Ministeriumsvertreter. Sie sollen nordkoreanische Raketen abfangen.
Auch an zwei anderen Orten im Großraum Tokio sollen PAC-3-Anlagen in Stellung gebracht werden. Verteidigungsminister Itsunori Onodera erteilte den Befehl, nordkoreanische Raketen, die japanisches Territorium erreichen, abzuschießen. ReplyDeleteΗ Βόρεια Κορέα προειδοποίησε σήμερα όσους ξένους βρίσκονται στη Νότια Κορέα να λάβουν τα απαραίτητα μέτρα για την απομάκρυνσή τους σε περίπτωση πολέμου, σε μία κλιμάκωση των απειλών της προς την Σεούλ."Δεν επιθυμούμε το κακό των ξένων στη Νότια Κορέα σε περίπτωση πολέμου", μετέδωσε το πρακτορείο ειδήσεων KCNA επικαλούμενο τον εκπρόσωπο της βορειοκορεατικής "Επιτροπής Ειρήνης Ασίας - Ειρηνικού".
