MINSK, August 26 (RIA Novosti) — The international community should render assistance to Ukraine to prevent economic collapse in the country, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said Tuesday.
“The international community, the states of the West and the East should render assistance to Ukraine," Nazarbayev said, adding that this is needed to prevent the economic collapse in the country.
The Kazakh leader also stated that he believes meetings in the format of Ukraine-European Union-Customs Union should be held regularly.
«We suggest keeping this format [of talks] and hold [them] on a permanent basis," Nazarbayev said during a meeting of the presidents of the member countries of the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and EU representatives.
Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Russia and EU member states are taking part in a multilateral meeting in Minsk where acute issues are being discussed, including the Ukrainian crisis, the humanitarian situation in the east of the country, the possibility of talks between Kiev and eastern Ukraine, as well as Ukraine’s association agreement with the European Union.http://en.ria.ru/world/20140826/192368725/Ukraine-Needs-International-Help-to-Prevent-Economic-Collapse-.html
