Over Two Dozen Missing as Major Landslide Strikes Eastern Chinese Village

At least 27 people are missing after a massive landslide occurred in China’s eastern Zhejiang province, The Guardian reports.

The landslide, triggered by Typhoon Megi rains, struck a village in Suichang County in Lishui Prefecture on Wednesday.

Over a dozen people have reportedly been rescued from the landslide. Typhoon Megi hit Taiwan and southeast China earlier this week.

Tens of thousands of people have been forced to evacuate amid floods and at least four people have died in Taiwan amid the storm. Over 600 have been injured.
