Russian and Syrian aircraft have not carried out any flights over the Syrian city of Aleppo, unlike the US-led coalition over the Iraqi Mosul, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said Sunday.
He added that two out of the nine airstrikes in Mosul were conducted by the US B-52H aircraft.
"Russian and Syrian aircraft have not carried out any flights over the city of Aleppo in 13 days…. the US-led coalition has conducted nine airstrikes in the last 24 hours on the residential areas of Mosul, an Iraqi city with millions of people," Konashenkov said.
Konashenkov also said that the terrorists in Aleppo showed no sign of deescalating the attacks on the residential areas and humanitarian corridors.
Despite this, 12 Syrians were able to escape and move to the secure districts of the city, but it was possible only by means of paying a $300 bribe for each of the escapees to one of the terrorist commanders, according to Konashenkov.
