European Commission decides not to freeze EU funds to Spain, Portugal

The European Commission on Wednesday opted not to freeze 2017 European Union funds to Spain and Portugal despite forecasts that the two nations would not comply with budget regulations.


In June, both Spain and Portugal dodged a fine for similar failures in the reduction of their 2015 deficits.
