State Department Says US Policy Against Arming Syrian Terror/Rebels Has Not Changed

The United States hasn’t changed its position against arming anti-government "rebels" in Syria amid the imminent fall of the city of Aleppo to government forces, Department of State spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau said Thursday.


Trudeau gave a negative answer to reporters when asked if Washington had revised its stance on arming so-called rebel factions.

"Even if Aleppo falls, certainly the war is not over. But our position has not changed on that."
