China's Xi promises to keep Hong Kong's special system for a long time

The President of China on Thursday promised to work to keep the "one country, two systems" formula, which gives Hong Kong greater freedom and rights than their mainland counterpart, stable and in place for a long time.


In a statement to the media upon his arrival at the Hong Kong airport for the 20th anniversary of its return to China, Xi Jinping said the Chinese government is going to support the development of Hong Kong as it has always done.
