Deforestation in Brazil Amazon rainforest soars 67 percent

 Deforestation of the Amazon rainforest has risen for three consecutive months. The number of trees destroyed in May was also 67 percent higher than the same time last year.

 Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro promised to boost funding to protect the Amazon in April, but is yet to follow through.
