All members of an elite police unit in the United States have resigned after one of their colleagues was charged with the assault of a journalist during protests in Portland, Oregon last year. It's the latest incident showing the strain on American police after an eruption in anti-police protests in the aftermath of the murder of George Floyd.
The Portland Police Association issued a statement defending the indicted officer and blames the assault charge on “agenda-driven city leaders”.
