Twin fires driven by strong wind gusts are rapidly spreading across grasslands and communities outside Boulder in the US state of Colorado. The wildfires had raged through about 650 hectares (1,600 acres) and forced more than 30,000 people to evacuate as of December 30, 2021, prompting Colorado Governor Jared Polis to issue a state of emergency.
