Sound of sirens heard in Ukraine’s capital

The sound of sirens could be heard in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv early Thursday as attacks by Russian forces intensified in the eastern Donbas region.

Ukraine’s Defense Ministry announced April 2 that Ukraine had retaken the entire Kyiv region from Russian forces.

Earlier this week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the start of a new Russian offensive in eastern Ukraine.
