Shelling destroys school in Mykolaiv, wounds five: Mayor

Shelling destroyed a school in the port city of Mykolaiv in the early hours of Sunday morning and wounded five people, the mayor has said.

“Windows in nine high-rise buildings were blown out by the shock wave and debris. Two more private houses caught fire from the impact of ammunition and debris. Commercial buildings, cars and a garage were also damaged,” Alexander Senkevich wrote on Telegram. “So far, it is known about five wounded, among them a teenager.”

Senkevich said that Ukraine’s Operational Command South, an arm of the military, reported four Kalibr cruise missiles being launched at the city on the evening of July 23.
