Ukrainian army will not take Kherson — acting governor

The Ukrainian forces will certainly fail to take Kherson, the Kherson Region’s acting governor, Vladimir Saldo, said on the Solovyov Live television channel on Thursday.

"They will not take Kherson 100%. Their nighttime shellings of hotels with US HIMARS systems will not scare our people, either," he said.

Saldo added that the situation on the engagement line in the Kherson Region had stabilized and remained unchanged near Ukraine-controlled Nikolayev.

Earlier, the deputy head of the regional administration, Kirill Stremousov, told TASS that the situation in the Kherson Region was now under complete control, with no advances by the Ukrainian forces. Kiev’s military was using a very large amount of equipment from NATO countries near Kherson, but the onslaught was restrained. The Ukrainian forces near Kherson lose more than 300 troops a day, he added.
