Western countries are only prolonging the Ukrainian conflict by supplying weapons to Kiev, Marine Le Pen, the leader of the National Rally faction in the lower house of France’s parliament, said on Tuesday.

By sending weapons we are not looking for a peaceful solution, for the settlement of the conflict through talks," she said in an interview with the France Inter radio station. "Supplies of weapons, especially heavy weapons, only prolong the conflict."
She stressed that the Ukrainian conflict can be settled only through talks. "It is naive to think that a Ukrainian offensive can put an end to the conflict," she said. "I think that this conflict must be stopped. And the only way out is diplomatic, not military."
