Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on special measures in response to the introduction of a ceiling on oil prices.
The document prohibits the sale of Russian oil and oil products if the countries prescribe a price ceiling in the contracts.
The decree was published on the official Internet portal of legal information. The document comes into force on February 1 and is valid until July 1, 2023.

According to the official document, "in connection with the unfriendly and contrary to international law actions of the US and foreign states and international organizations that have joined them," supplies of oil and petroleum products are prohibited Russians to foreign legal entities and natural persons "if the contracts for these supplies provide for the use of a price limitation mechanism".
