US House Republicans vote for investigation of Biden presidency

Republicans controlling the United States House of Representatives have voted on Tuesday to launch an investigation into what they term as Democratic President Joe Biden’s “weaponization” of the federal government. Democrats, however, have branded it a partisan fishing expedition.

Republicans have been promising to use their new majority against the US Justice Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and other federal agencies that investigated Republican former President Donald Trump and his supporters who stormed the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
