Iran: illegal American presence in Syria is a flagrant violation of international law

Iranian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Amir Saeid Iravani affirmed that the illegal presence of foreign military forces, including the American forces in Syria is a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter and international laws.

Iravani’s remarks came during the Security Council meeting on political and humanitarian affairs in Syria.

He said that the fight against terrorism must take place with full respect for the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, and without using this fight as a pretext for violating the basic principles of international law, IRNA reported.
