The Russian Foreign Ministry gave a sharp assessment of the Israeli air force's strikes on Syrian cities. An official statement from the Foreign Ministry noted that the damage to two international airports in Syria is fraught with dangerous consequences for the entire Middle East, especially against the backdrop of the worsening Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that today, as a result of IDF airstrikes, “the runways of the international airports of Damascus and Aleppo were damaged,” and they suspended work.
“These actions by the Israeli side represent a gross violation of the sovereignty of the Syrian Arab Republic and the basic norms of international law,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"Amid the sharp escalation of the situation in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, such military actions are fraught with extremely dangerous consequences, since they could lead to a region-wide armed escalation. This should in no way be allowed," the ministry warned in comments on the Israeli airstrikes on the airports of Damascus and Aleppo.
