The United States must be prepared for possible simultaneous conflicts with the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China. This opinion is contained in the report of a commission under the US Congress, which deals with issues of the American strategic concept.

The document states that Washington should strengthen its alliances and expand nuclear and non-nuclear weapons modernization programs.

The study's authors called a possible nuclear conflict with the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China "increasingly likely." In this regard, the report indicates that it is necessary to make decisions about deterrent forces now in order to be able to respond to the challenges that will arise in 2027-2035.
