Ukraine announced that it will receive western warships to escort merchant ships

Kiev claims that it will receive ships from the West to escort ships along the “new grain corridor,” the Ukrainian publication Ukrayinska Pravda reported.

Western countries have not previously announced their intention to transfer warships to Ukraine.

“Ukraine has agreed with its partners to receive warships to ensure the safety of ships in the “grain corridor” in the Black Sea,” says the material on the Ukrayinska Pravda website.

According to the publication, Vladimir Zelensky announced agreements with unnamed Western countries during a press conference on Saturday. According to Zelensky, obtaining ships to escort merchant ships is “a matter of the near future.”
