Russian troops have completely liberated Marinka in the Donetsk People's Republic, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to Vladimir Putin.
“During active offensive operations, the assault detachments of the Yuzhnaya group today completely liberated the village of Maryinka southwest of Donetsk,” the head of the Ministry of Defense said.
- Marinka is a suburb of Donetsk, located one kilometer from the Petrovsky district of the capital of the DPR.
Taking control of the city will make it possible to more effectively protect Donetsk from the fire of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Shoigu emphasized.
Russian troops will have the opportunity to enter a wider operational space after the liberation of Marinka in the DPR, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
