UK to fly surveillance planes over Gaza in search of missing captives

The UK will fly its surveillance planes over Israel and Gaza in search of missing captives, its Defence Ministry announced, adding that the planes will be unarmed and focus only on intelligence gathering.

“Only information relating to hostage rescue will be passed to the relevant authorities responsible for hostage rescue,” it said.

Five British nationals are missing following Hamas’s October 7 attack. A further 12 Britons were killed in the attack, according to the UK government.
