Blinken’s Gaza Diplomacy Reflects ‘Arrogance, Amateurism’ of Biden Administration

Human rights activist and 2016 Green Party vice presidential candidate Ajamu Baraka pulled no punches discussing the Biden administration’s recent diplomatic efforts in the Middle East Friday, claiming efforts to persuade countries to receive Palestinian refugees “can’t be successful.”

“The notion that the US is going to be able to twist arms or in any way persuade various Arab and Muslim nations to accept the refugees, the people who are being cleansed from Gaza is absolutely absurd,” he said.

“There's no way that these Arab monarchies and other dubious elements that are running these states in the so-called Middle East are going to be able to align themselves with US policy.”

“It would be an invitation to destabilizing their society,” added Baraka, referring to reports that Egypt has rejected US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s request to receive 2 million Palestinians. “The same with the Iraqis.”
