Yemen Targets 3 Ships in Support of Gaza, Retaliation for US-UK Strikes

The Yemeni military forces targeted three ships in the Red and Arabian Seas as part of the operations in support of Gaza and also in retaliation for the US-UK aggression on Yemen.

The first operation was carried out by the missile force of Yemen’s Army against the Verbena cargo ship in the Arabian Sea, Spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree said on Thursday, confirming that the vessel was hit, leading to a fire on board.

US Central Command CENTCOM released a statement saying that Verbena was struck by two missiles, which caused a fire on the ship.

In the second and third operations, the SeaGuardian and Athina vessels came under attack in the Red Sea by Yemeni ballistic missiles and drones, and were directly hit, the spokesperson added, Al Mayadeen reported.

  1. A sailor was severely injured after a cargo ship in the Gulf of Aden was struck by two cruise missiles fired by the Houthis in Yemen, the US military said.

The injured sailor was airlifted to another ship for medical treatment, the US Central Command (CentCom) reported.

It added that crew members were fighting a fire on board the MV Verbena - a Palauan-flagged, Ukrainian-owned, Polish-operated ship.

CentCom later said it had destroyed two Houthi patrol boats, one unmanned surface vessel and one drone over the Red Sea in the last 24 hours.
