The head of Russia's Belgorod region has declared a state of emergency, saying the situation was "extremely difficult" in the border area under Ukrainian bombardment.
"The situation in our Belgorod region remains extremely difficult and tense due to shellings from the Ukrainian Armed Forces," Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Telegram.
"Houses are destroyed, civilians died and were injured," he added.
The state of a regional-level emergency has been declared on the entire territory of the borderline Belgorod Region, with the authorities planning to later upgrade it to a federal-level emergency, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel.

The armed forces of Ukraine shell it on a daily basis, with homes destroyed and casualties reported among civilians," he said. "That is why, starting from today, the entire territory of the Belgorod Region will be declared an area of a regional-level emergency, for the purpose of providing additional protection and support to its population."
"Subsequently, we will request a governmental commission to declare a federal-level emergency," the governor said in a video address.

ReplyDeleteГлава региона подчеркнул, что остановка в области по-прежнему крайне сложная и напряженная. Каждый день Вооруженные силы Украины ведут обстрелы. Результат – погибшие и раненые мирные жители, поврежденные дома.
Поэтому с целью защиты населения и оказания дополнительных мер поддержки пострадавшим было принято решение о введении на территории Белгородской области режима чрезвычайной ситуации регионального уровня. Позднее планируется обращение в правительственную комиссию с просьбой о введении режима ЧС на федеральном уровне.
