Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Thursday that damage from the 12-day war with Israel was “serious,” as Iran begins assessing the impact of the conflict.
“A detailed assessment of the damage is being carried out by experts from the Atomic Energy Organization (of Iran),” he told state TV, adding “the discussion of demanding damages” was now high on the government’s agenda.
"Now that attacks have been put on pause over the past two days, officials from the Atomic Energy Organization are scrupulously assessing the damage done to our facilities. This damage, it must be said, is serious. Expert discussions are underway," he told IRIB television.
Araghchi firmly denied speculation Iran is preparing to resume nuclear negotiations with the United States.
