Russia-Ukraine Exchange of Fallen Soldiers' Bodies Begins Under Istanbul Deal

The exchange of fallen soldiers' bodies has begun under the Istanbul Agreements, according to Vladimir Medinsky, the Russian presidential aide and head of the Russian delegation in negotiations.

"The transfer of fallen soldiers' bodies has begun in accordance with the Istanbul Agreements," Medinsky reported on his Telegram channel.

Russia has handed over 1,212 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers to Ukraine and received 27 fallen Russian soldiers.

  1. Началась передача тел погибших солдат в соответствии со «стамбульскими договоренностями», заявил Владимир Мединский.

    «Украинской стороне мы передали 1212 тел солдат ВСУ.
    Нам вернули 27 погибших бойцов Вооруженных сил России. Теперь их можно будет предать земле по-христиански. Работа продолжится все эти дни. Завтра начнем также срочные «санитарные обмены» тяжелоранеными пленными с линии фронта».

  2. Moscow has handed over 1,212 bodies of Ukrainian servicemen to Kiev and received 27 bodies of fallen Russian soldiers in return, Russian Presidential Aide, head of the Russian delegation at the Istanbul talks Vladimir Medinsky said.

    He also noted that on Thursday, Moscow and Kiev will begin urgent "sanitary exchanges" of heavily wounded prisoners of war.

  4. Russia on Wednesday returned the bodies of 1,212 Ukrainian soldiers who died fighting Moscow’s invasion, part of an agreement between the two sides reached at peace talks last week.

    Moscow also said the next phase of a large-scale exchange of captured soldiers would take place on Thursday.
