Israel and Iran attacked each other for a fifth straight day, and US President Donald Trump urged Iranians to evacuate Tehran, citing what he said was the country's rejection of a deal to curb nuclear weapons development.
Mr Trump is due to leave the Group of Seven summit in Canada, a day early, due to the Middle East situation, the White House said.
Fox News reported he would convene his National Security Council.

The G7 has struggled to find unity over conflicts in Ukraine and between Israel and Iran as Trump overtly expressed support for Russian President Vladimir Putin and has imposed tariffs on many of the allies present.

"President Trump had a great day at the G7, even signing a major trade deal with the United Kingdom and Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Much was accomplished, but because of what’s going on in the Middle East, President Trump will be leaving tonight after dinner with [G7] Heads of State," Leavitt added in a post on X.
Iranian media soon reported explosions and heavy air defence fire in Tehran. Air defences were activated also in Natanz, home to key nuclear installations 320km away, the Asriran news website reported.

Canada has abandoned any effort to adopt a comprehensive communique to avert a repeat of the 2018 summit in Quebec, when Trump instructed the US delegation to withdraw its approval of the final communique after leaving.

He has requested that the National Security Council be prepared in the situation room [of the White House]," Jones wrote on his account on X.
The US president is deliberating whether to enter the conflict with Iran to bomb its nuclear enrichment facility at Fordo, according to The New York Times.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has also left the G7 summit in Canada along with the US president, according to media reports.
