N Korea reaffirms support for Russia's war in Ukraine

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un offered Russia his full support on the war in Ukraine during talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, state media in North Korea said.

Mr Lavrov's visit to North Korea was the latest in a series of high-profile trips by top Russian officials as both countries deepen military and political ties amid Russia's offensive against Ukraine.

  1. Russia and North Korea are committed to the Strategic Partnership Treaty and will strictly observe it, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

    "Both Russia and North Korea are strictly observing their obligations under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty. And they will continue doing this," he said at a reception given in his honor by the North Korean government.

    Lavrov noted North Korea’s contribution to the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.

  2. Kim signed an accord with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in June last year, agreeing to support each other if either country was dealing with "aggression".

Russia supports fair measures of North Korea to supports its security and sovereignty in the situation around the Korean Peninsula, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said, citing a statement in conclusion of the second round of the strategic dialogue at the level of foreign ministers of the two countries.

  4. Mr Kim told Mr Lavrov that North Korea was "ready to unconditionally support and encourage all the measures taken by the Russian leadership as regards the tackling of the root cause of the Ukrainian crisis", KCNA said.

    The North Korean leader also expressed a "firm belief that the Russian army and people would surely win victory in accomplishing the sacred cause of defending the dignity and basic interests of the country".

  5. Kim Jong-un muestra apoyo a Rusia para solucionar la crisis ucraniana

    El líder de Corea del Norte expresó al canciller ruso, Serguéi Lavrov, la disposición de su país para apoyar a las autoridades rusas a resolver el conflicto ucraniano, de acuerdo con la Agencia Telegráfica Central de Corea (KCNA).

    "El camarada Kim Jong-un reiteró la disposición de [Corea del Norte] a seguir apoyando todas las medidas adoptadas por el liderazgo ruso para resolver de raíz la situación en Ucrania, de conformidad con el espíritu del tratado" suscrito entre Moscú y Pionyang, refirió el medio.

    Kim Jong-un enfatizó que ambas naciones coinciden en todos los temas estratégicos, lo que refleja el alto nivel de alianza bilateral.

    Según la agencia, durante su reunión con Lavrov, el líder norcoreano le pidió que transmitiera sus saludos al presidente ruso, Vladímir Putin.
