In major shift, Trump says Ukraine can win back all territory from Russia

United States President Donald Trump says he believes Ukraine, with the support of the European Union and NATO, could win back all of the territory Russia has captured since its invasion more than three years ago, in a dramatic shift in his policy on Ukraine.

“With time, patience, and the financial support of Europe and, in particular, NATO, the original Borders from where this War started, is very much an option,” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform after his meeting on Tuesday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He added that as Russia’s economy gets worse “Ukraine would be able to take back their Country in its original form and, who knows, maybe even go further than that!”

  1. American taxpayers are gaining an advantage from the new weapons shipments to Ukraine, as the armaments are no longer being donated but are being paid for by NATO countries, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated during an interview with Fox News.

"The [US] President [Donald Trump] has said that we are going to continue selling weapons to NATO and NATO and Ukraine can choose how to use those weapons," she said.

"But the way that this weapon arrangement has now taken place under President Trump is putting America first, because we are selling these weapons to Ukraine and to NATO, and NATO is back filling those weapons to Ukraine, so the American taxpayer is benefiting from this. That's a change and a shift in position from the [previous Joe] Biden administration," Leavitt clarified.

Earlier, Trump stated that the United States would continue its arms supplies to NATO countries.

    1. США выигрывают от поставок оружия Украине, так как теперь оно не передается бесплатно, а оплачивается странами НАТО. Об этом заявила пресс-секретарь Белого дома Кэролайн Ливитт.

  2. The idea that Ukraine can reclaim anything is wrong, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

Commenting on statements by US President Donald Trump that Kiev can use military force to regain all its territories and return to the 2022 borders, the spokesman said: "The situation is different now. Ukraine's position is much worse now. I repeat, they will only continue to deteriorate." "The fact that Ukraine is being encouraged in every way to continue hostilities and the idea that Ukraine can win something back is, in our view, a mistake," Peskov emphasized.

He added that "the situation on the front lines speaks for itself."

  3. US President Donald Trump called Russia a "paper tiger" after a meeting with Vladimir Zelensky, apparently caught in the vortex of the Ukrainian’s Russia hate, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a press briefing.

"As far as we understand, President Trump’s statements were made after talking with Zelensky and, it seems, Zelensky’s opinions rubbed off on him. This view is in stark contrast with our understanding of the current state of affairs," he said.
