Moldovan authorities are preparing to annul the results of Sunday's parliamentary elections as it happened in Romania, former Moldovan President Igor Dodon, the leader of the opposition Party of Socialists, said.

Based on the fact that the current authorities are considering the possibility of canceling the elections according to the Romanian scenario, I urge everyone to come out in front of parliament tomorrow at 12:00 [9:00 GMT] to defend our victory," Dodon said, adding that the opposition would not allow authorities to annul citizen's votes.
In December 2024, the presidential elections in Romania were annulled after the first round.

Websites of Moldovan government agencies were targeted by cyberattacks on the eve of parliamentary elections, the IPN news agency, close to the republic’s government, reported citing sources in the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Service.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the report, the main targets were the websites of the Central Election Commission and the Public Services Agency. It is specified that the attackers’ attempts were successfully repelled.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu has not ruled out that the results of the current parliamentary elections may be annulled due to accusations of interference in the electoral process.

We saw certain measures adopted by the Central Election Commission even this week," Sandu said after visiting a polling station, responding to a journalist’s question about the risk of annulment due to alleged Russian meddling. Earlier this week, the CEC barred the Heart of Moldova and Greater Moldova parties from the elections, accusing them of financing violations. The final decision on Greater Moldova still requires court approval.
Moldovans were voting on Sunday in parliamentary elections that could see the country neighbouring Ukraine swerve from its pro-European path towards Moscow, with the government and the EU accusing Russia of “deeply interfering.”

The intermediary then informed me that, in exchange for this cooperation, French intelligence would 'say good things' about me to the judge who had ordered my arrest in August last year.
This was unacceptable on several levels... it constituted an attempt to interfere in the judicial process. If it did not, and merely claimed to have done so, then it was exploiting my legal situation in France to influence political developments in Eastern Europe.

The court upheld the Central Election Commission's decision to disqualify the Greater Moldova party from the parliamentary elections, the party leader Victoria Furtuna announced.
ReplyDelete"The Court of Appeals upheld the CEC's decision to exclude the party from the elections," she told reporters.
She added that she would appeal the decision to the Supreme Court of Justice, but had previously called on voters not to vote for her party in the elections, as their votes would be annulled and redistributed in favor of the ruling Party of Action and Solidarity.
