Trump urges Iranians to keep protesting, says help on way

US President Donald Trump has urged Iranians to keep protesting and said help was on the way, without giving details, as Iran's clerical establishment pressed its crackdown against the biggest demonstrations in years.

"Iranian Patriots, keep protesting - take over your institutions!!!... help is on its way," Mr Trump said in a post on Truth Social, adding he had cancelled all meetings with Iranian officials until the "senseless killing" of protesters stopped.

  1. US President Donald Trump said on January 13 he’s cancelled talks with Iranian officials amid a protest crackdown, telling Iranian citizens “help is on its way.” Trump did not offer any details about what the help would entail, but it comes after the Republican president earlier said Iran wants to negotiate with Washington after his threat to strike the Islamic Republic

  2. Moscou dénonce le chantage américain et "les méthodes infâmes des révolutions de couleur"

    Points clés d'une déclaration de la porte-parole de la diplomatie russe, Maria Zakharova:

    ▪Les menaces de Washington de lancer de nouvelles frappes militaires contre l’Iran sont catégoriquement inacceptables;

    ▪La Russie condamne fermement toute "ingérence extérieure subversive" dans les processus politiques intérieurs iraniens;

    ▪"L’évolution de la situation politique intérieure et une baisse ces derniers jours des manifestations artificiellement provoquées permettent d’espérer une stabilisation";

    ▪Des forces étrangères hostiles à l’Iran tentent de le détruire en utilisant "les méthodes infâmes des révolutions de couleur";

    ▪La Russie rejette catégoriquement les tentatives flagrantes de chantage envers les partenaires étrangers de l’Iran par l’augmentation des droits de douane;

    ▪Les missions diplomatiques russes en Iran fonctionnent normalement, restent en contact avec leurs compatriotes et recommandent à ces derniers de faire preuve de prudence.

  3. Washington's threats of strikes against Iran are absolutely unacceptable, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Tuesday.
    "The threats from Washington of launching new military strikes on the territory of the Islamic Republic are absolutely unacceptable," Zakharova said in a statement.
    Russia strongly condemns any subversive external interference in Iran's internal political processes, the diplomat said.
    "The dynamics of the domestic political situation in the country, the decline in artificially fueled protests seen in recent days, allow us to expect a gradual stabilization of the situation. Thousands of Iranians marching in support of the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic are the key to the failure of the sinister plans of those who are haunted by the existence of states in the international arena capable of pursuing an independent foreign policy and independently choosing friends," Zakharova concluded.
    Moscow is in contact with its diplomatic missions in Iran, which are working as usual and are in touch with Russians in the country, the diplomat said.
