UK's Starmer apologises to Epstein victims for appointing Mandelson US ambassador

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer apologised to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein ‍on Thursday and said he was sorry for having believed the "lies" of Peter Mandelson, whom he had appointed as US ambassador.

Starmer vowed to remain Britain's prime minister, saying he had not known about the strength of the relationship ‌between Mandelson and Epstein ‍when he appointed him to the role.

"I intend to go on doing that vital work for our country because I believe it is the absolute focus and of first importance for this government," he told reporters.
