CEOs of US oil giants warn Trump administration energy crisis likely to worsen

US oil executives have told officials in White House meetings that the energy crisis triggered by ⁠the US-Israel war on Iran is likely to get worse, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Citing people familiar with the matter, the publication said the CEOs of Exxon, Chevron and ConocoPhillips warned Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Interior Secretary Doug ⁠Burgum that the disruption to energy ⁠flows through the  Strait of Hormuz will continue to create volatility in global energy ‌markets.

  1. Oil prices continue to rise as markets open, with major benchmarks higher amid the continued disruption of oil and gas supplies, according to the latest figures.

    At 22:45 GMT on Sunday, shortly after the Chicago Mercantile Exchange opened, US benchmark West Texas Intermediate rose 2.54 percent to $100.22 a barrel, while the price of Brent, the international benchmark for oil, was up 2.88 percent to $106.11 a barrel.
