A US official has told Al Jazeera an Iranian missile attack on USS Abraham Lincoln did not affect the aircraft carrier, which continues its operations.
The official said the missile did not reach the ship and caused no damage.
Tehran launched four ballistic missile strikes on the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Sunday.
"The US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln was attacked with four ballistic missiles," the IRGC statement released by Iran's state broadcaster read.

The Pentagon denied Iran's claim to have struck the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln with ballistic missiles in the Gulf.
