Russia requests UNSC extraordinary meeting after Kiev’s attack on Starobelsk college

Russia has requested an extraordinary meeting of the UN Security Council following Ukraine’s targeted attack on a student dorm in Starobelsk, spokesman for Russia’s mission to the United Nations Yevgeny Uspensky said.

"Russia has requested an extraordinary meeting of the UN Security Council over Ukraine’s deliberate attack on a college dormitory in Starobelsk housing minors and students," he told journalists.

On Thursday night, Ukrainian troops launched a drone attack on the Starobelsk college building and dormitory. There were 86 teenagers aged between 14 and 18 inside at the time of the attack. Four people were reportedly killed and 39 were injured. Apart from that, an administrative building, shops, and several single-family homes in the city were damaged in the attack. One man was wounded. The college building has practically collapsed, while firefighting efforts continue on the still-burning structure.[TASS]

  1. Russia’s Investigative Committee, which investigates serious crimes, accused the Ukrainian military of firing four drones at the building.

    “As a result of the attack, the five-story building collapsed to the second floor,” it said.

    Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described the attack as a “heinous crime” in comments to reporters.

  3. Все виновные в атаке ВСУ по колледжу в Старобельске будут установлены и понесут неотвратимое наказание, сообщили в МИД РФ.

    "Киевский режим, терпящий поражение на поле боя, открывает новую страницу в вооружённом конфликте, разворачивая открытый бесчеловечный террор против беззащитных детей", - говорится в сообщении.

    Как считают в ведомстве, ночная атака не могла быть случайностью — это целенаправленный удар.

    Mientras tanto, el balance de los heridos tras el ataque suma 39 personas, entre ellos, nueve niños han sido hospitalizados (tres de ellos en estado grave), informó la comisionada para los derechos del niño del presidente de la Federación de Rusia, María Lvova-Belova.

    Las labores de búsqueda y rescate continúan.

  6. Ukraine's neo-Nazi authorities have carried out a terrorist strike on a college dormitory in the Lugansk People's Republic, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
    “Last night, the neo-Nazi regime that seized power in Kiev carried out a terrorist strike on the student dormitory of the Starobelsk Pedagogical College, during the night when the students were sleeping,” Putin said.
    Six people were killed as a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attack on a college dormitory, Vladimir Putin said.

    1. The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attack will be investigated, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
      President Putin stated that he has instructed the Russian Foreign Ministry to inform the international community about the crime committed by the Kiev regime in the Lugansk People's Republic.
      “The Foreign Ministry has been tasked with notifying international organizations and the global community about this crime,” he said during a meeting.
      He added that Russian authorities will do everything possible to assist the victims and the families of those killed in the Ukrainian attack on the dormitory.

      El presidente de Rusia encomendó al Ministerio de Defensa que presente propuestas de respuesta al ataque de las Fuerzas Armadas de Ucrania contra el colegio en Starobelsk, en la república popular de Lugansk.

      En sus palabras, en una situación como esta, es imposible limitarse únicamente a las declaraciones diplomáticas. Al mismo tiempo, agregó que la Cancillería de Rusia ya recibió la orden de informar sobre este crimen a la comunidad internacional.

  9. Генштаб ВСУ отрицает, что украинские военные нанесли удар по общежитию в Старобельске.

    При этом сам удар по району Старобельска Генштаб ВСУ подтвердил, но заявил, что целью был один из штабов российского подразделения беспилотников «Рубикон».
