The official IRNA news agency has published pictures of the Iranian president signing the interim agreement with the US and holding up pages with his and Trump’s signatures.
“The text of the Memorandum of Understanding to end the imposed war between the US and the Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran was signed in the early hours of Thursday, June 18, 1405, by the presidents of Iran and the United States,” the agency reported.

Donald Trump has confirmed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.

"I signed it in Versailles," Trump told reporters, adding: "Just signed it."
There is anger in Israel, which crosses all the political and ideological divides, about the memorandum of understanding.
ReplyDeleteThe text says the US and Iran will "commit to negotiating and achieving the final deal in maximum 60 days, extendable with mutual consent".
ReplyDeleteOn the nuclear question, the agreement says "Iran reaffirms that it shall not procure or develop nuclear weapons", which was Trump's number one condition ever since the start of the war.
The memo also says that Iran's enriched uranium will be "down-blended" – meaning diluted – on site, under the auspices of the IAEA, the UN's nuclear watchdog.
On the question of the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, there will be no charges for ships going through the key waterway for 60 days, according to the agreement.
