Iran has started its attacks against US targets in the Middle East, the Press TV channel reported.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed earlier in the day that the US military had started another wave of strikes against targets in Iran after the Islamic Republic’s elite military force, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), fired shots at a vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier reports said blasts were heard in the Iranian port cities of Bandar Abbas and Sirik on the country’s southern coast, as well as in Chabahar in the southeast. Also, explosions were reported on the Qeshm island, in the city of Asaluyeh and in several districts of the Bushehr province.

The US said it launched a fresh wave of strikes on Iran after Tehran struck a ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it closed the waterway until further notice and warned of a severe response to US "aggression", according to state media.
Within hours of the US strikes, the IRGC said they had hit a US base in Jordan, while the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain were all responding to missiles and drones from Iran.
The US military has completed another wave of strikes on Iran, the third this week, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on the X social network.
"US Central Command (CENTCOM) completed a third round of strikes this week against Iran," it said on the X social network.
The attack was carried out in connection with Iran’s attack on a commercial ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
US Central Command (Centcom) said it launched a third round of strikes this week after the IRGC "blatantly attacked" a Cyprus-flagged vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.
Centcom said the MV GFS Galaxy was "unable to continue its journey" as a result of significant damage to the engine room. One civilian crew member was missing, it said.
It said US strikes hit 140 Iranian military targets, including missile and drone sites, communication networks, and coastal surveillance locations.
Iran’s top negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has issued a statement on X.
“The era of one-sided deals is OVER. We told you: keep your word or pay the price,” he wrote.
“Reality is knocking,” he added.
The post was accompanied by an image of Article 5 of the MoU, which concerns the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, with the words “the Islamic Republic of Iran will make arrangements” highlighted. As we’ve been reporting, the latest round of attacks was triggered by disagreements between the US and Iran over the control of and management of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claims it has carried out a “heavy and surprise” attack on logistics support centres and refuelling platforms used by US aircraft carriers at the Port of Duqm in Oman, according to the IRIB state broadcaster.
The IRGC’s public relations office told IRIB that the sites were “destroyed” in the attack.
It called the attacks on Oman the third phase of its response to the US bombings.

The IRGC says it has hit and stopped a second “offending vessel” in the Strait of Hormuz, and is warning that the continuation of what it called US-Israeli “aggressions” would result in “even more devastating” responses.

The IRGC states that:

♦️ A fighter jet maintenance and repair hub at Al-Udeid Airbase in Qatar was struck with ballistic missiles. The base’s command headquarters was also hit in subsequent strikes.
♦️ A second US vessel was struck and disabled in the Strait of Hormuz.
♦️ A heavy surprise attack hit logistical support centers and refueling platforms for US aircraft carriers at the Port of Duqm in Oman. The sites were “destroyed” in the attack.
♦️ Drones targeted a Patriot missile system, ammunition depots, and radar sites of US forces in Kuwait.
♦️ In a separate wave, drones struck the communications system and radar sites of US forces in Bahrain.
Iran has launched a series of strikes on U.S. targets in the Middle East, Press TV reported on Sunday.
Missile alert sirens sounded in Bahrain as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar also came under attack, reports said.
The UAE Defense Ministry said Sunday that its air defense systems were engaging missile and drone threats, while Bahrain's Interior Ministry urged residents to remain calm and proceed to the nearest safe location.
According to Press TV reports, the U.S. targets hit in the latest Iranian strikes included a Patriot air defense system, an ammunition depot and a U.S. military radar facility in Kuwait.
In response to U.S. attacks, Iran also targeted a U.S. military communications facility and a radar facility in Bahrain, and launched a ballistic missile strike against the U.S. airbase of Al Udeid in Qatar, according to the reports.
Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps said Sunday that its aerospace forces had carried out a heavy attack on U.S. aircraft carrier support and refueling facilities at Oman's Port of Duqm, adding that the operation targeted logistical support centers for U.S. naval vessels.
