The United States military said Sunday that it launched new strikes on Iran to “swiftly punish” the country’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for an attack that killed two American service members and left one missing and four requiring hospitalisation.
Tasnim news agency said the Iranian army targeted US military assets in two bases in Kuwait.
A statement from Iran’s military said, “In response to the repeated aggressions of the enemy”, the army targeted a US “ammunition depot at Al-Adiri camp and the Patriot radar and air radar” at the Ali Al Salem base in Kuwait.

Iran has attacked ammunition depots and air defense radars at two US bases in Kuwait in response to attacks on Iranian cities, the Mehr news agency quoted an army official as saying.
Earlier, the agency said that the US attacked the Iranian cities of Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Hajiabad, and the island of Qeshm in the Strait of Hormuz.
The US death toll in the conflict has now risen to 16 after an American Navy pilot who went missing earlier this month was declared dead, marking the second increase in the toll this week.
The latest casualties in Jordan bring the total number of US soldiers killed since the war began to 16. More than 430 others have been wounded, while one remains missing.
