The Ukrainian Ambassador in Ankara was summoned to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs due to Ukrainian Armed Forces strikes on two Turkish ships in the Black Sea, according to the IHA news agency.
According to local media reports, the reason for the summons was the shelling of the cargo ship Lider Bordo Mavi near Tuapse on the night of August 26th. A fire broke out on board the ship, and five crew members were injured. The following day, another Turkish ship, the Lider Kocatepe, was also shelled in the same area.
"The Ukrainian Ambassador was informed that attacks on Turkish commercial vessels are unacceptable. He was also warned about the need to ensure the safety of life, property, navigation, and the environment in the Black Sea," the NTV television channel reported, citing sources in the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
