Delcy Rodríguez appoints new officials to key positions for Venezuela

Venezuela's acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, announced on Monday the appointment of a group of officials to lead various strategic bodies "to strengthen the South American country's international, commercial, and energy profile."

"In this phase, we are moving forward with greater coordination, international presence, and new opportunities for Venezuela," Rodríguez wrote on her social media channels.

 Andrea Corao, who previously served as Deputy Minister for Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was appointed President of the Export Promotion Agency of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (Venexporta).

 Carlos Amador Pérez, who has served as ambassador to several Caribbean nations, was appointed to head the Foreign Ministry’s Vice-Ministry for the Caribbean, while Eduardo Ramírez will lead the Vice-Ministry for Asia and Oceania.

Similarly, Raúl LiCausi was appointed Ambassador and Head of Mission for Venezuela to the European Union, as well as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Belgium, with concurrent accreditation to Luxembourg. A specialist in international studies, he previously served as Deputy Foreign Minister for the Caribbean.

Meanwhile, Radamés Gómez Azuaje will replace Ramírez as head of the Vice-Ministry for Hydrocarbon Geopolitics.
