Iran has conveyed seven conditions to the US via intermediaries for the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, reports Tasnim, citing an informed source.
According to the source, the strait will remain closed until these conditions, approved by the Islamic Republic's top leadership, are met.
Thus, the agreement between Iran and Oman does not lead to the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, the source explained; rather, it means that if the strait is opened, it will be done "as a measure to assert Iran's sovereignty over this waterway."
The opening of the strait depends entirely on the US side's actions regarding the fulfillment of Iran's conditions, he added.
