Iran parliament speaker warns US of ‘faster, heavier’ response to any new attack

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf warned the US on Sunday that any new attack on Iran’s interests or security would draw a “faster, heavier and more painful” response.

Speaking during a parliamentary session, Qalibaf said the era of what he called “proportionate responses” was over and claimed that recent Iranian military operations against US bases were “only a beginning.”

“The Americans must have understood that the era of ‘proportionate responses’ is over,” he said.

“If they have not understood it by now, they should understand before it is too late that the rules of the game have changed, and from now on, any aggression against Iran’s interests and security will receive a faster, heavier and more painful response,” he added.
