SLB, the world's largest oilfield services company, announced that it will not participate in any activities in the Malvinas Islands without authorization from the Argentine government, according to the company's official statement.
The company confirmed that it "is not participating, nor does it plan to participate, in any tendering processes aimed at providing services for hydrocarbon projects in the Malvinas Islands or the surrounding maritime areas."
Commitment to Argentine sovereignty in the region was also reaffirmed by two other major industry players, Halliburton and Baker Hughes, noted Argentine official Pablo Quirno as he shared the companies' official documents on his X account.
These decisions follow statements by Argentine President Javier Milei regarding the toughening of sanctions against firms operating in the archipelago.
