Netherlands prepares population for Russian sabotage

Citizens are learning to survive without electricity or communications and are being urged to stockpile food and water for 72 hours,  FT reported.

Dutch authorities believe Europe is in a "twilight zone between war and peace" due to increasing cyberattacks, acts of sabotage, and other hybrid threats that Western intelligence agencies link to Russia.

The Netherlands is conducting public drills, modernizing its siren system, including for the event of a nuclear threat, and has developed an app with instructions that works even without an internet connection; more than 60,000 people have already installed it.

Furthermore, authorities believe it is time for Europe to rebuild Cold War-era civil defense measures—including bunker infrastructure, and to prepare the population for prolonged power and communication outages as well as other critical supply shortages.
