Poland has called on NATO to conduct "aggressive exercises" near the borders of the Kaliningrad region

The Polish Foreign Minister stated that such maneuvers could force Russia to redeploy some of its troops from Ukraine to Kaliningrad.

According to him, Warsaw is closely monitoring the situation in the region.

Earlier, the Lithuanian Foreign Minister also raised the possibility of a strike on Kaliningrad.

  • Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on Sunday on Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski's call for NATO to step up military exercises near the Russian province of Kaliningrad.

Speaking to the press, the spokesman noted that it is "evident" the military bloc is preparing for and already conducting "military activities" near the Russian enclave.

For this reason, he said, Moscow is taking "necessary measures" to ensure the security of the territory, which shares a land border with Poland and Lithuania.
