Several US aircraft damaged in Iranian strikes on Jordan military base: US Media

CBS News is reporting, citing sources with direct knowledge of the matter, that multiple American military aircraft were damaged during Iranian strikes on the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan early on Wednesday.

CBS reported that roughly eight F-15s sustained light damage and were returned to service, though one A-10 Thunderbolt, commonly known as the Warthog, was struck and lost a wing.

The attack formed part of a wave of Iranian retaliatory strikes following US statements on Tuesday that it had targeted five Iranian oil tankers after Tehran attempted to target a US Navy warship.
