South Korea’s president on Thursday strongly criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's disclosure of the transfer of two North Korean prisoners to Seoul.
"State affairs should be conducted for the sake of the country and its people, not for the interests or popularity of the administration or those in power," Lee Jae Myung said on US social media platform X, stressing the repatriation as an "extremely sensitive" matter impacting diplomacy, national security and the situation on the Korean Peninsula.
Lee's remarks come after Zelenskyy said Wednesday that Ukraine has transferred two North Korean soldiers captured while fighting alongside Russian forces to South Korea.
