The U.S. claims to have helped move a massive supply of crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz

The commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), Admiral Brad Cooper, stated that U.S. forces have facilitated the passage of millions of barrels of crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz over the past few months.

"CENTCOM forces have supported the passage of more than 1 billion barrels of crude oil from the Gulf. That represents 1 billion barrels of crude oil that have transited the Strait of Hormuz in recent months. We have reached this significant milestone while providing assistance to more than 2,000 commercial vessels during their transit through the strait," Cooper said in a video posted by CENTCOM on X.

He added that they are working with other countries in the region to bolster their air defense capabilities.
