The US handed over all military bases to Iraq

The US-led international coalition has handed over all its bases and headquarters to Iraqi authorities.

 After September 30, no coalition combat or training forces will remain in the country, said Saad Maan, head of the Iraqi Security Media Cell, as reported by Al Jazeera.

The Iraqi army is prepared to assume responsibility for national security following the withdrawal of coalition forces, Maan stated. 

Cooperation with coalition member states will continue based on bilateral agreements.

 In August, the Associated Press reported that Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, during a meeting with U.S. Central Command commander Admiral Brad Cooper, designated September 30 as the "fixed and final date" for the conclusion of the Global Coalition against ISIS's military mission in Iraq and the withdrawal of its forces.
